We use Scandinavian redwood from managed forests. 100mm x 50mm smooth planed, our gates are constructed using Mortice and Tenon pegged joints which are proven to give both strength and durability. Tongue and Groove facia panel 125mm x 16mm smooth planed. Pressure treated with tanalith E, a waterborne product based on copper triazole technology. This process provides lasting protection of the gates. Tanalised pressure treated timber is usually specified for both in and out of ground contact applications, where there is a medium to high risk of decay. During manufacture and prior to dispatch each gate is subjected to our rigorous in house quality assurance providing you with a quality product. Our commitment, and for your peace of mind we offer a 10 year guarantee on the wooden gates.

European Redwood
This is a common softwoodfound throughout Europe. It weight is strong and moderately hard.
The timber dries rapidly and without undue degrade.
Density is 510kg/m³
Iroko:
Hardwood mainly from West Africa, Iroko has excellent strength properties similar to Teak with a density of 660kg/m³.
The timber dries well with only a slight tendency to distortion and splitting.
Utile:
This hardwood is available from well managed sources in tropical Africa. It has a density of 660kg/m³ with extremely good
strength properties for timber of its weight. It has excellent properties for exterior joinery.
Oak:
This is a well know hardwood. Oak has a density of 720kg/m³ can vary by 20%. It has a high strength property
but due to it drying slowly it has a tendency to split and crack, particularly in the early stages.
As a result more waste is generated in the milling of the timber which is reflected in the cost.
